Helsingør was immortalised by Shakespeare as Elsinor, the home of Hamlet in the famous tradgedy. Situated on the north East coast of Sealand it is the site of Kronborg one of the ancient defences of Copenhagen guarding the sound between it and Helsingborg across the water in Sweden.
Helsingør is easy to get to, just 45-75 minutes on the train from Copenhagen, either direct from the airport or from the Central Station. Or if you prefer the more unusual route arrive via Sweden and get the ferry across from there.
Our venue isn't in the castle, alas but instead we've taken over a hostel on the edge of town. Accommodation is in shared rooms of 3, 4 or 5 and all linen is included. Bring an extra towel though, you will want to dive in for a swim, the sea is just over the wall at the end of the garden!
We haven't forgotten the trails, less than 500m from the front door is a forest we can lose an entire pack in with no problems.
As always with a Viking Wankers weekend, the beer taps open at registration and stay that way until after the Sunday circle so bring your drinking boots along with your running shoes.
